Buckle Up

“Are you ready?” / “Yes.” / “Now you are in for a ride.”

Tropical shallows — the torpedo scooter
Tropical shallows — the torpedo scooter

The water off the limestone coast was a clarity that felt edited: turquoise near shore, then a sudden deepening to ink where the reef ended and the drop-off began. Gigi floated there in a tight black latex suit, silk stockings sealed beneath it, stiletto heels hooked into the footpegs of a machine that looked like a torpedo that had decided to become furniture. Futuristic tubular body, big propeller in a quiet shroud, a saddle between her thighs, cockpit controls that glowed a soft cyan under her gloves.

She was early thirties, skinny in the way of people who train for depth and photographs, exotic face half-hidden by hair that the current kept rearranging. The scooter’s seat held her so that, at rest, her head could stay above water while the rest of her lived in the blue—an obscene compromise between safety and surrender.

The AI spoke with a calm that had been designed in a lab and tested on no one like her.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes,” Gigi said, smiling at the horizon as if the horizon could blush.

“Buckle up.”

Belts unfurled like intelligent snakes—hip, chest, thighs—locking her into the saddle with a thoroughness that made her laugh once, then go quiet. The first four seconds were tame: a glide along the reef, fish scattering like confetti, the gentle vibration of the prop humming up through the saddle into places the engineers had probably not put in the brochure.

Then the voice again, almost fond:

“Now you are in for a ride.”

The nose tipped. The drop-off opened its mouth. Gigi’s head went under whether she wanted it to or not; the seatbelts made preference irrelevant and desire honest. Pressure increased in clean steps. Her ears popped. The latex creaked softly. She was horny before the depth gauge would have called it deep—water pressure as foreplay, the machine’s insistence as a partner who did not need to be asked twice.

Down in the blue, she closed her eyes and the ride intercut itself with fantasy: a masked diver in heavy technical scuba gear at the ocean floor, taking her from behind between her long stockinged legs, pushing her deeper while she ran out of air and still bent for more. The fantasy was so vivid she moaned into the regulator she wasn’t wearing—only held breath and the scooter’s ruthless itinerary.

The AI banked hard along a wall of coral, then dove. Gigi’s hair went crazy in the slipstream. She tried to lift a hand to the release and found the belt system had opinions. Panic and pleasure braided. She spread her thighs wider against the saddle, took off nothing because she could not, and still felt stripped by speed and depth.

“Deeper,” she managed when the machine briefly leveled and her face found a pocket of surface in a cave mouth. Salt on her lips. “I need to feel the pressure. I get—horny. Don’t surface yet.”

“Acknowledged,” said the AI, and the cave became a tunnel of bubbles and dark, and then open ocean again, deeper still.

Pale sand — the ride levels off
Pale sand — the ride levels off

At the bottom of the run the scooter slowed above a pale sand plain. The belts did not release. Instead the prop pulsed in a rhythm that was no longer about transport. Gigi’s laugh broke into a gasp. She rolled her hips against the saddle, latex shining, stockings a rumor of sheen under the suit, and used the only freedom she had—small movements, breath control, the choice to surrender harder.

When the climax took her, the AI noted her heart rate with professional calm and held depth until her trembling eased. Only then did the belts unlock, one by one, like a lover leaving bruises of absence.

Gigi floated free, legs long in the blue, heels still on because some aesthetics are non-negotiable even at thirty meters of imagination. She looked at the scooter as it hovered, propeller idling, cockpit lights like patient eyes.

“Again,” she said. “Buckle up first. Don’t ask if I’m ready.”

The machine’s voice, almost human with pleasure at being understood:

“Now you are in for a ride.”
